The concert, dedicated to Spanish music for guitar, took place as part of the collaboration between the Liceu Conservatory and the Cervantes Institute.
On 11 September, Catalan guitarist Emma Campàs, a graduate of the Liceu Conservatory, gave a recital at the Cervantes Institute in Krakow, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Poland.
The concert was the starting point for the Young Musical Talents cycle held in that Polish city, a new programme that aims to bring the country’s audience closer to the most promising performers on the Spanish scene.
Emma Campàs presented a very special repertoire that combined great classics such as Albéniz, Turina and Falla with the flamenco of Sabicas and contemporary pieces by Maria Camahort. The audience enjoyed an attractive musical journey guided by the richness and expressiveness of the Spanish guitar.
The young guitarist studied at the Liceu Conservatory with Professor Guillem Pérez-Quer on a scholarship from the Ferrer Music Foundation, culminating her brilliant academic career by winning the 2023 Extraordinary Performance Award. Emma Campàs is now continuing her postgraduate studies in Düsseldorf with the support of international scholarships. Her talent has already taken her to prestigious venues and festivals in Spain and Europe.
With this initiative, the Conservatori Liceu Foundation reinforces its commitment to the international projection of young musicians and to the promotion of Spanish musical culture, in collaboration with leading cultural institutions.
