The musical areas in which the Bachelor in Higher Artistic Education in Music offers complete training include classical to contemporary music, jazz and modern music and certain specialties of traditional music, such as flamenco. This variety responds to the demands of young students, already accustomed to living in a rich and diverse world, in which the answers to musical concerns cannot be the same for everyone.

The new Syllabus has a particular impact on the preparation of future musicians with the highest quality and efficiency, thanks to very rigorous work in the respective specialties and the very frequent opportunities to acquire artistic and professional experience.
Regarding Interpretation, the Liceu offers in the field of Classical and Contemporary Music lessons in all Orchestral Instruments, Singing, Piano and Guitar, as well as in all Jazz and Modern Music instruments, and Flamenco Guitar. The other specialties offered by the Center are Composition and Pedagogy.
Goals of the qualification
The studies of the Bachelor in Higher Artistic Education in Music have as general objectives the acquisition in an integrated way, of the transversal, general and specific skills established in the Curriculum, which allow to guarantee the achievement of the professional profile defined for each of the specialties of these studies by students who follow and satisfactorily complete them.
The purpose of the study program is to acquire a training of the highest level in the selected specialty, leading to a solid professionalization based on firm principles that prepares the graduates to be able to access the world of Music in its professional side. During the course of their studies, students are part of a dynamic educational community that constantly offers them opportunities to approach the sector in which they want to enter as professionals. In this sense, one of the objectives is to get in touch with other students, professors or visiting interpreters so that the students can start a network of interactions that will help them in their entry into the professional world.
Entrance profile
The person aspiring to start the studies of the Bachelor in Higher Artistic Education in Music has received, either in the regulated studies of the Professional Degree or in studies of similar content and requirements, the necessary training to face these studies with advantage. The professors themselves are the ones who, through the Access Tests, will assess the suitability of the applicant.
In this sense, the applicant has good auditory recognition skills, a good foundation of harmony and musical forms, abilities to analyze and historically contextualize musical pieces, or a precise knowledge of the musical terminology of their specialty.
Beyond previous knowledge, future students must be committed to their own learning, and who have the will to apply all the experience gained in their studies to their artistic and professional career.
Minimum duration of studies and ECTS credits
The curriculum of the Bachelor in Higher Artistic Education in Music consists of four academic years and a total of 240 ECTS credits, distributed in 60 credits each year.
