The Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts cycle is our unique initiative that combines a cycle of concerts of great interest with one of the most important offers of masterclasses in our country. This way, during the last years, this concert cycle has turned the Liceu Conservatory into a meeting point of reference between students of music, audience and big international names of classical and contemporary music.
Thus, the Liceu Cambra promotes a fruitful relationship between students of the Center and first level soloists, and orchestral and chamber musicians. Not to mention composers, who have prestige and a proven record of accomplishment. Grace Bumbry, Martin Fröst, Leo Brouwer, Carlos Álvarez, Dmitri Alexeev, William Kinderman, el Quartet Hagen, Dalton Baldwin o Jean-Maria Londeix among many others. All of them have given us unforgettable advice in their masterclasses. Also, we have been able to enjoy the mastery of some of them through luxury recitals.
This cycle also represents an opportunity for all music enthusiasts and students to get closer to the most popular performers, listening to their firsthand advice and listening to them in concert. Therefore, it is an open concert cycle that enriches the public offer of the cultural activity in our city.
In addition, students are called to participate through several concerts planned. Sometimes they even share the stage with the guest artists. It is an activity that completes the students’ training in front of the public and makes them acquire experience in a professional environment.
