Liceu Cambra – Masterclasses & Concerts is synonymous with great music and musical wisdom shared by the greatest performers and creators.
This concert series is now in its ninth edition, reaffirming itself as one of the most interesting initiatives of its kind, as a highly anticipated meeting point for Liceu Conservatory students with international masters, and as a gathering for music lovers in Barcelona to enjoy the best music.
The season opens with the visit of soprano Elena Pankratova to the Liceu Conservatory, who will perform the role of The Princess in the opera Turandot at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Until May 2024, Liceu Cambra – Masterclasses & Concerts will offer 16 masterclasses and 5 concerts. The concert series is pleased to present some of the most outstanding names in wind instrument performance, such as Jacques Zoon, Miriam Pastor, Marc Geujon, and Guillhaume Santana, some of whom are already familiar faces at Liceu Cambra. The Conservatory will also host renowned string musicians like Salvatore Accardo, various musicians from the Berliner Philharmoniker such as cellist Ludwig Quandt, violinist Daniel Stabrawa, violist Walter Küssner, and double bassist Matthew McDonald, not to mention the visit of Evgeni Kissin, one of the most admired pianists today, who will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the season.
Ensemble music always has a special place in the programming of Liceu Cambra, with the presence of internationally renowned groups such as the Cuarteto Latinoamericano.
As in every edition, in addition to the masterclasses, there will be concerts of great interest at the Conservatori Liceu Auditorium, one of the best stages of its kind in Barcelona and an ideal space to fully enjoy the music of the greatest artists. In addition to the concert by the aforementioned Cuarteto Latinoamericano, the audience will also have the opportunity to listen to the Kaimerata, led by professor Kai Gleusteen. Opera will also take center stage at Liceu Cambra with a high-level professional production centered around one of Mozart’s fundamental works: La Clemenza di Tito, performed by the students of the Master’s Degree in Opera Performance under the musical direction of Manel Valdivieso and stage direction by Anna Ponces.
The Liceu Cambra – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is sponsored by the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
