The venue of the Liceu Conservatori is located very near its historical building, at the Nou de la Ramble street, in the heart of Barcelona, between La Rambla and the Paral·lel. Opened in 2009, this magnificent building was conceived accord to the spacial, acoustic and ambiental needs to develop music teachings.
The building of the Liceu Conservatory has a surface of 10,000 m2 distributed in 8 floors. The top five floors, dedicated to the Bachelor of Music and the Master’s Degrees, contain 90 classrooms to hold the lessons. They all are very soundproof and acoustically adapted according to its specialization and instrument.
The library, located on the top floor, allows you to have a look of the whole building through the lantern glasses providing natural light to the central patio and the Center’s corridors. The Library offers the best conditions for theoretical studies and online searches.
The Chamber Hall, the Orchestra Hall, and the Auditorium, located on the underground floors, are excellent areas for the music practice. Several concerts and auditions, due to the performing activities of the students of the Liceu Conservatory, are held in these areas. Not to mention several professional concert cycles. The three halls, of different dimensions and capacities, allow each musical activity to have its ideal environment and audience.
The Liceu Conservatory Auditorium, prepared for the chamber and symphonic concerts together with jazz and modern music ones, can hold 400 people. It also has the necessary infrastructure for theatre and opera performances, as well as audiovisual projections. The unanimously praised acoustics of the Liceu Conservatory Auditorium make this hall one of the best of its kind in the city of Barcelona.
At the ground floor, we have the Conservatory’s Cafè, a coffee shop-restaurant where you can enjoy your spare time or relax for a while. Also, it has the equipment to perform live concerts, such as the Jam Sessions on Thursday evenings.
