Objectives
The objective of the Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Chamber Music Performance is for the students to build their own experience of representative pieces of the chamber training repertoire in which they wish to specialize, deepening it in an area of specialization. This way, they will acquire the knowledge and the skills of a highly-skilled performer and a well-defined artistic personality.
Training Profile
The student who obtains the Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Chamber Music Performance has the highest level of training in terms of interpretation in the context of chamber music. He is able to deal with the interpretation of highly complex works and to work in groups to offer high quality interpretations, with a solid aesthetic foundation and a deep knowledge of their characteristics.
This Master’s also offers the student training in research methods which, together with the Master’s Final Thesis, forms the basis for future Doctorate studies.

Curriculum
The registration for the Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Chamber Music, done in full groups, relates to the following ensembles:
- String quartet
- Piano trio
- Chord trio
- Piano with violin duet
- Piano with cello duet
- Pianos and/or piano at four hands duet
- Guitars duet
- Saxophone quartet
- Wind quartet
Other ensembles may be proposed. They will be accepted based on their interest and the tradition of their repertoire.
The groups will perform their pieces preferably with the resident groups in the Center. Individual applications in the Master’s Degree can be requested, but the Center reserves itself the option to admit them according to the availability of the groups. Individual students will gather in groups at the proposal of the Master’s Coordinator according to the results of the admission tests.
The performing project, articulated with an ensemble repertoire meeting the objectives of the Master’s Degree, will be performed in a final Chamber concert in the halls of the Liceu Conservatory. The concert will be oriented according to the technical characteristics, training and artistic concerns of the students.
To have proper knowledge of the challenges and demands that professional life will show them shortly, the students have a Music Businesses course where several professionals, experts in the businesses of promotion, programming, and musical management will share their experiences and give them the best advice.
The Analysis Seminar will also study the works performed to have theoretical and historical bases to favor a performance fully aware of the aesthetic and stylistic implications of the repertoire.
The students must be able to communicate their ideas about performed music through the Master’s Final Essay, conducted under the direction of specialists who will give them advice on how to communicate the results of their performed work to different audiences.

Master’s Final Thesis
The study program includes the completion of a Master’s Thesis under the direction of specialists who allow the student to define and express in a coherent manner the own ideas about his repertoire, while developing his ability to communicate the content and results of their performance work to diverse audiences.
