The Liceu Jove was born under the principle “the best music from the classrooms to the stage”, which the Liceu Conservatory holds as a fundamental premise regarding its studies. The conviction that musical excellence can only be achieved through live performances is the origin of these free concerts’ cycles that give the students the opportunity to present the result of their work in a professional environment. It also establishes a bridge between the academic activity and the musical life of our city.
Several instrumental groups formed by students such as the Symphonic Orchestra, the Classical Orchestra, the Liceu Big Band, the Liceu XXI ensemble, the Symphonic Band, instrumental ensembles of small format or recitals of students from the Piano, Wind and Singing Departments (the last ones together with Lyric Scenes) star in this enriching musical offer. Not only reflects this professionalizing dimension, but it also represents a great opportunity for fans and musicians of the city to access repertoires of great interest and multiple formats (from the chamber intimacy to the large-scale symphonic productions). It contains a great stylistic variety (from great works of the opera history to contemporary and new creation repertoire).
