Objectives
These Master’s studies have the objective of training a personal experience of the representative works of the student’s repertoire, by deepening into a specialization area. This way, he/she acquires the knowledge and the skills of a great performer with a well-defined artistic personality.
The Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance will allow the student to develop a language based on the knowledge of the tradition and the most important styles in the music history, in all its styles and genres.
It is also a unique opportunity to be in optimal conditions to gain access to professional practice in concert programs, recordings and professional activities related to creativity and the current music industry.
Training profile
The student who obtains the Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance has a complete training in their instrument. He is qualified to access professional practice in concert programming, recordings and professional activities related to creativity and the current music industry.
This Master’s also offers the student training in research methods which, together with the Final Master’s Thesis, forms the basis for future Doctorate studies.

Curriculum
Students will plan the performing project, with a solo or group repertoire aimed to a specific area of the solo or group repertoire of Classical and Contemporary Music that meets the objectives of the Master’s Degree. The repertoire, performed in a final concert, will be oriented according to the technical characteristics, training and artistic concerns of the students.
The work seeks to achieve a defined personality to get more options in the professional world of Classical and Contemporary Music, both in performing activities as well as teachers. This is done through the continuing education of the instrumental or vocal technique in the corresponding specialization, achieving the necessary level of excellence to face the final objectives of the studies. Theoretical complementary training, given by specialists in composition, improvisation, analysis, history, and aesthetics of Music, will allow the students of the Master’s degree to develop a complete knowledge of the works performed. Also, a greater awareness of the stylistic characteristics of the classical and contemporary tradition, as well as its cultural implications.
The Music Businesses course brings together the professionals from the most representative sectors of the music businesses, such as journalists, managers, concert promoters, marketing people, entrepreneurs, etc., offering the students a global vision of the real professional world they will find upon finishing their studies.
The Analysis Seminar course consists of the study of the structure and the formal and aesthetic characteristics of the great works of the repertoire. This course helps the student to achieve an adequate performance according to the eloquent content of the work. The pieces of the students’ program will be the class work, giving a personalized and practical nature to the course.
The Curriculum includes the execution of a Final Essay under the direction of specialists that allow to define and express, in a coherent way, the ideas of the student about his/her repertoire. He/she will develop his/her capacity to communicate the content and the results of his/her work to different audiences.
The students also have access to the masterclasses from the Liceu Cambra concert cycle, with some of the most outstanding teachers and soloists of the orchestral, chamber music and solo scene. As well as lectures by visiting teachers and several concerts and auditions that take place regularly at the halls of the Center.
Degree: Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Performance in Classical and Contemporary Music.
Credits: 60 ECTS in 4 curricular itineraries according to the specialization studied: Piano, Guitar, Singing and Orchestral Instruments.
Master’s Final Thesis
The study program includes the completion of a Master’s Final Thesis under the direction of specialists who allow the student to define and express in a coherent manner the own ideas about his repertoire, while developing his ability to communicate the content and results of their performance work to diverse audiences.
