The Minister of Universities, Joan Subirats Humet, visited the Higher Education Center of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation last Friday, April 14, received by Sergi Ferrer-Salat and Maria Serrat i Martín, President and General Director of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, respectively, as well as the trustees of the Foundation, Maria Pilar Fernández Bozal and Josep Maria Coronas Guinart; and the Minister’s Chief of Staff, Marta Cruells López.
The minister wanted to know first-hand the concerns and needs within the framework of the new Organic Law of the University System (LOSU) and the proposal for the Artistic Education Law, which was approved by the Council of Ministers on April 11 and which will be processed in the Congress of Deputies shortly. Likewise, Subirats was able to speak with some students and attend some classes to learn first-hand about the reality of the center and the students.
The Minister of Universities had the opportunity to sign the Book of Honor of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, in which he wrote his thanks and congratulations to the Conservatory for its educational work and its contribution to the development and promotion of musical culture in Catalonia.
The Liceu Conservatory Foundation thanked the Minister for his visit and highlighted the importance of maintaining close collaboration between universities and cultural institutions to promote the comprehensive training of students and the role of music in society.
