The activity takes place in the framework of institutional collaboration between the Conservatori Liceu Foundation, the Italian Institute of Culture, the Embassy of Italy in Spain and the Consulate General of Italy in Barcelona.
On October 25, the Auditori Conservatori Liceu hosted a concert by the Trio Rigamonti. This formation is one of the current trios of reference in Italy and has been performing regularly in prestigious Italian and international festivals for more than nine years. The event was attended by various personalities such as the Italian Consul in Barcelona, Emanuele Manzitti and the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona, Lucio Izzo, as well as part of the Italian community of the city and students and teachers of the Conservatory.
The Trio Rigamonti has won numerous important awards, such as the Second Prize at the prestigious Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Liège (Belgium), the Miglior Ensemble Italiano Prize, the first edition of the Premio Internazionale de Musica de Camera Filippo Nicosia in Faenza, the Concorso Internazionale de Musica de Camera Carlo Maria Giulini 2021 in Bolzano and the 14th International Chamber Music Competition of the Alpe Adria in Udine. The Trio was also named Ensemble of the Year 2020-21 within the Le Di-more del Quartetto circuit, receiving a scholarship from the Fondazione Morosini in Milan, and was awarded the Giovani Eccellenze Prize 2022, organized by the Universum International Academy in Switzerland.
Two of its members, Mariella and Emanuele Rigamonti play early 20th century Italian instruments: a G. Pedrazzini violin and a G. Sgarabotto cello. The Trio is also supported by the Associazione Musicale IN MUSICA VERITAS, the Bolsa di Studio Internazionale for quartets and young chamber ensembles, in homage to Filippo Nicosia, diplomat, man of culture and music lover, who will always recognize musical talent by supporting and promoting it with enthusiasm.
This activity is part of the internationalization agreements of the Conservatori Liceu Foundation and is added to the activities carried out at the Conservatory around Italian music and culture, such as the concert of the Liceu Conservatory Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the renowned Italian conductor Speranza Scapucci within the framework of Futura, the conference on the role of cities such as Milan and Barcelona in June 2021, and the master classes and concert by the Quartetto di Cremona at the Conservatory last March.
