On Sunday, October 13th, the Liceu Conservatory hosted a concert featuring the Trio Hermes, a group composed of Ginebra Bassetti (violin), Francesca Giglio 8cello), and Marianna Pulsoni (piano). This ensemble, recognized for its International career, has been trained by renowned masters such as the Trio di Parma and Pierpaolo Maurizzi, and has won several prestigious awards, including the European Music Competition “Città di Moncalieri” and the “Crescendo” competition in Florence. Currently, the Trio Hermes continues its training at the Walter Stauffer Academy, under the chamber music class of the Quartetto di Cremona, solidifying its position as one of the most promising Young ensembles in contemporary chamber music.
During the concert, the Trio gave a sublime performance of two fundamental works in the chamber music repertoire: the Piano Trio in D minor, op 11 by Fanny Mendelssohn and the Piano Trio in A Major by Ildebrando Pizzetti. Despite the stylistic and temporal differences between the two composers, the pieces stood out for their strong influence from the vocal tradition of bel canto.
This concert is part of the internationalization agreements of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, which promotes musical excellence and cultural Exchange between prestigious institutions. Additionally, it is part of the ongoing collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Consulate of Italy in Barcelona, which has led to several events focused on Italian music and culture. Amongst the most notable events of this collaboration are the concert by the Liceu Conservatory Symphony Orchestra conducted by Speranza Scappucci, as part of Futura (a series of discussions on the role of cities like Milan and Barcelona held in June 2021), the masterclasses by the Quartetto di Cremona, and the Trio Rigamonti concert in 2022.
Through these collaborations, the Liceu Conservatory Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting International talent and fostering musical culture, positioning itself as a reference point in the musical scene.
