Yelen Beatriz Montero Rodríguez, a current Master’s student in Performance and Chamber Music from the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, has taken third place in the X Certamen Internacional de Zarzuela de Valledesco, held in Valleseco (Las Palmas).
In this edition, the soprano competed with 24 participants from five countries; Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Spain and Cuba of which only 8 were selected to sing in the final concert, which took place on Sunday 9th October in the auditorium Dr. Juan Díaz Rodríguez.
The competition was under the direction of the teacher Isabel Costes, with Jerónimo Saavedra as honorary president.
Yelen Beatriz Montero has been in the news over the last years, after winning in 2021 the third prize at the “Medici International Musical Competition” and finalist and Honourable Mention at the International Singing Competition in Trujillo (Peru).
