Last October kicked off the new season of Òpera a Catalunya where we found different former students of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation as the leading voices.
The Opera Circuit in Catalonia is promoted by the Òpera Catalunya Foundation and includes the cities of Sabadell, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Manresa, Granollers, Reus, Girona, Vic, Tarragona, Lleida, Viladecans, Tortosa and Barcelona. The commitment of these cities and institutions makes it possible for the country to have a unique model that allows the dissemination and enjoyment of opera in the territory.
This autumn marks the start of its new edition and celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the creation of the Associació d’Amics of the Opera from Sabadell with the titles Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly and il trovatore. The three operas are under the artistic direction of Mirna Lacambra, one of the leading opera voices in Catalonia and a former student of the Conservatory.
The opera Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart was selected to kick off the season with the participation of our former students Carlos Pachon (Don Giovanni), Tina Gorinna (Donna Anna), César Cortés (Don Ottavio) and Mar Esteve (Zerina).
The opera Madamme Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini will be premiered during the months of February and March 2023. Our graduates Anna Tobella (Suzuki), Jorge Juan Morata (Goro) and Laura Obradors (Kate Peterson) will be among the leading voices.
Finally, the opera Il trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi will be premiered during the months of April and May 2023 in which our former students Maribel Ortega (Leonora) and Carles Daza (Il Cuento di Luna), among others, will participate.
From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate our graduates for their participation in the Òpera a Catalunya season and we wish them every success in their professional careers.
