From January 15, the Preliminary Auditions, the Second Trials and the Semifinals of the 57th edition of the prestigious International Tenor Viñas Singing Contest have been held in the Auditorium of the Liceu Superior Center.
During this year’s edition we have welcomed a total of 546 young singers from 53 countries, where we have been able to enjoy the new voices of singing and lyric. On Sunday, January 26, the final concert will be held by the winners on the stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, with the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the direction of Francesc Prat, in addition to the awards ceremony . The winners will be known over the course of this week.
The International Tenor Viñas Singing Contest is one of the most important music competitions around the world, whose jury is composed of important artists in the field of opera from different countries.
The Liceu Conservatory Foundation is one of the main patrons and collaborators of the competition in conjunction with the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation, the Puig Foundation and the Friends of the Tenor Viñas Contest. The contest was founded in 1963 by Jacint Vilardell in memory of Tenor (Francesc) Viñas, one of the first and outstanding students of the Liceu Conservatory.
