Las Migas, a group where we find the graduates from the Liceu Conservatory Roser Loscos and Laura Pacios, has won the Latin Grammy for best flamenco music album with their record Libres.
The album, which was released last April, is a collection of 10 songs that “smell of sea, land, air and fire, of free love, hope and strong women”.
Roser Loscos, a former student of classical violin from the Conservatori Liceu trained with professor Corrado Bolsi, participated in the disc, and has now been replaced by Laura Pacios, who graduated last year in jazz violin and studied with professors Oriol Saña and Christoph Mallinger. The group is also formed by Carolina La Chispa (vocals), Marta Roblas (guitar) and Alicia Grillo (guitar).
The quartet’s very personal style is difficult to label. Some media have called it Mediterranean song, music for the soul, sung poetry, with no other limits than their own inspiration. The music of Las Migas is a journey towards the next or the impossible, with creations that immerse you in nostalgia, euphoria, or connect you with your emotions and feelings.
Las Migas participated in 2019 in the cycle Liceu Jazz Masterclass & Concerts with an inspiring masterclass.
From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate the group Las Migas for obtaining this award and we wish them the best of luck and success in their professional career.
