25/10/2022

Lluís Calvet, former studient of the Centre Superior will be a member of the International Opera Studio at the Hannover State Opera.

The baritone Lluís Calvet and Pey, a former studient from the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, is part of the International Opera Studio at the Hannover State Opera (Germany) this season.

Lluís Calvet studied singing at the Centre Superior Liceu under Dolors Aldea and at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (Cardiff, Wales) within the framework of the Erasmus program and within the collaborative convention that the Centre has with theFundació Conservatori Liceu. The courses 17-18 and 18-19 he received a fellowship from the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation. He gained experience in his artistic career by participating at the International Festival of Classical Theatre, Mérida, and the company Young Opera in Barcelona. In 2020 he won second prize at the “Concurs de cant de les Corts” in Barcelona.

A few days ago he performed in Francis Poulenc’s opera Dialogues des Carmélites and he will soon perform in the opera The fall of the house of Usher from Philip Grass, based on the eponymous short story by Edgar Allan Poe. He will also participate in the operas Rusalka by Antonín Dvořák, Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, Hamed und Sherifa by Zad Moultaka, and La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini.

Besides the Opera Studio at Hannover, the catalan baritone will also perform a concert and recording with Carlo Rizzi, Nicola Alaimo and Sergey Romanovsky at the Opera Rara in the United Kingdom and in April he will participate in the concert and recording of “Esule di Roma” by Gaetano Donizetti.

From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate Lluís Calvet for taking this opportunity and we wish him good luck and every success so he can continue expanding his professional career as a concert opera singer.
