Irene Mas Salom, graduated soprano at the Liceu Conservatory, resident artist of the Lied Festival Victoria de los Ángeles

Irene Mas Salom, graduated soprano at the Liceu Conservatory, resident artist of the Lied Festival Victoria de los Ángeles

Soprano Irene Mas Salom, a graduate in singing from the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, is a resident artist at Life Victoria Barcelona in the 2022 edition.

As a resident artist, she took part in the concert on November 10th at the old Damm factory with Joel Bardolet (violin) and Bernando Rombe (guitar) where she performed works by F. Schubert.

Last 15th November she also performed at the Art Nouveau site of Santo Pablo accompanied by Malcom Martineau (piano) where she played works by Gioacchino Rossini, Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, Richard Strauss, Frederic Mompou and Eduard Touldrà.

On 2 February at 8 p.m. she will star in Hahn & Proust: el amor del tiempo perdido at the Sant Cugat del Vallés Theatre-Auditorium with Mercedes Ganceda (soprano) and Julius Drake (piano) and under the stage direction of Vincent Huguet. They will perform the melodies of Reynando Hahn (1874-1947) Offrande, Encor sur le pavé sonne mon pas nocturne, L’Heure exquise, Nocturne, Dans la nuit, Quand la nuit n’est pas étoilée, Rêverie and À Chloris, among others.

The festival programme also included the participation of the graduate Miquel Esquinas (piano) and Elisa Scudeller (violinist and master’s student), performing works by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) and Claude Debussy (1862-1918) at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau site on 15th November.

Irene has been in the news over the last few years after winning numerous prizes, including the extraordinary prize at the 58th International Tenor Viñas Singing Competition and the First Prize and Special Prize at the 13th International Music Competition of Les Corts.

The Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation promotes this cycle dedicated to the Lied genre, which the Catalan singer tackled so successfully. It offers recitals by internationally renowned artists (LIFE Recitals), an innovative format that gives young performers the opportunity to sing alongside established musicians (LIFE New Artists) as opening acts, and a series of parallel training activities (Life Academy).

From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate Irene Mas Salom for these performances at Life Victoria Barcelona and wish her many successes in her musical career as a singer.
