The Música Z cycle is back, after the success of its first edition, which closed with a very positive balance, given the very good reception by the citizens of Barcelona, who filled almost all the civic centres that had been made available for concerts by future musicians, all of them students of the Liceu Conservatory.
The Barcelona Civic Centre Network, in collaboration with the Centre Superior of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, is once again making the stages of the civic centres available to future musicians to provide them with new experiences with the Música Z programme.
For the students, performing in front of a diverse and close audience, within the framework of their training, is a fundamental part of the learning process and the acquisition of experience. At the same time, for the cultural spaces that host them, it is a way of getting to know future talents and the diversity of musical styles and languages that they can offer. It is, therefore, a different musical experience, as it is not just a concert but a space for open dialogue on a repertoire from which students and audience will share the motivations and challenges faced by a new generation of performers.
This project is in line with the educational principles of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, which aims to provide students with in-depth training in interpretative and creative activities that will enable them to acquire experience in conditions similar to those of professional life and bring them closer to their future professional activity. The aim is to encourage the participation of students in their own activities or those carried out in external venues through existing agreements with other related entities, as in this case with Barcelona City Council.
This year will participate the Trio Korena, the clarinet quartet Holmes, the flamenco guitar trio Tarsis, the string quartet Mercurii and the duo formed by the soprano Yelen Montero and the pianist Oriana Kemelmajer. All of them are formed by students of the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, and will give a total of 15 performances in the Civic Centres of Vil-la Florida, Torre Llobeta, Casa Orlandai, Pere Pruna, Can Verdaguer, Josep Maria Trias y Peitx, Sagrada Familia and El Sortidor. The 5 groups are made up of a total of 16 students, 7 girls and 9 boys with great talent and musical knowledge.
