On 22 October the students Carlos Coronado and Jaume Frances, Flamenco guitar students from the Centre Superior Liceu with professor Manuel Granados, performed in the Sala Moragas at the Born CC, as part of the Joan Carles i Amat year events.
Carlos Coronado performed a siguiriya and Jaume Frances a taranta. Both closed the concert with a Farruca by Manuel Granados.
Bruna Escolà, a graduate of the Liceu Conservatory with a scholarship from the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation, also participated in the concert.
The concert was held to commemorate the 450th anniversary of Joan Carles i Amat (Monistrol de Montserrat 1572-1642), a former “Renaissance man”; doctor, writer and paremiologist, politician and “great dilettante” of music, he wrote the first guitar treatise known to Europe and which has spread to the five continents.
From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate Carlos Coronado and Jaume Francés for their performance and wish them every success so they can continue expanding their professional careers as guitarists.
