The initiative, led by the Shostakovich Conservatory of Music in Asunción, Paraguay, an institution run by alumni of the Liceu Conservatory, took place in the Paraguayan capital between July 3 and 10 and was well attended by active students and listeners from across the country.
The Liceu Conservatory Foundation featured violin professor Corrado Bolsi, Head of the String Department, and violin professor Gisella Curtolo. Both teachers gave individual lessons, chamber music classes, and lectures on resources for diverse repertoires or auditions. They also gave a recital, accompanied by the Bach Society of Asunción.
The 2025 International Chamber and Baroque Music Meeting was a great success, as evidenced by the number of participants: 104 active students, more than 60 listener participants, and 70 professional musicians. Furthermore, 150 people attended the soloist’s concert, and around 600 attended the closing concert with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Congreso Nacional of Paraguay.
This activity was made in the frame of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation Collaboration Program with Latin America, through which the institution has established institutional agreements with conservatories, universities, and cultural organizations in several Latin American countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil.
