On October 16, the Liceu Conservatory Foundation participated in the inauguration of the new performing and music hall at the Resa Pere Felip Monlau residence, in an event that featured the Liceu Conservatory Foundation. The day brought together authorities, students, and music enthusiasts, who enjoyed a magnificent performance by the Saxophone Quartet of the Liceu Conservatory of Music.
The event began at 1:00pm with the welcome speeches from Montse Belmonte, director of the Resa Pere Felip Monlau residence; Ms. Tatiana Añeiros, Senior Operations Director of Resa, and Dra. Maria Serrat Martín, General Director of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation.
In her speech, Dr. Maria Serrat Martín highlighted the importance of Resa’s commitment, as such an emblematic institution, to the talent of young musicians. She emphasized the need for institutions like Resa, in a city like Barcelona that hosts students from all over the world, to understand music as an essential tool for energizing spaces for coexistence and connection.
Next, the Gènesi Saxophone Quartet, composed of students from the Liceu Conservatory of Music – Pol de Moral, Bernat Valls, Berta Ballesté, and Oriol Martínez – performed Amunt de la Reina de Saba by G.F. Handel and Tango pour une pricesse désespérée by David Salleras. After the performance, a commemorative plaque for the new music hall was unveiled in a symbolic ceremony that officially marked its opening.
