On September 22, the inauguration of the new 2025–2026 academic year for students of the official Master’s programs in Higher Artistic Education in Music offered by the Liceu Conservatory was held at the Conservatori Liceu Auditorium.
The event featured a musical performance by student Pol Requena, who performed the movement “Málaga” from the piano suite Iberia by Isaac Albéniz.
Students also heard from the Academic Director, Dr. Víctor Estapé, and the Head of the Chamber Music Department, Albert Julià, who explained the objectives and characteristics of these programs, aimed at advanced training for professional musicians in an environment of high academic excellence.
Thus begins a new year for the five Master’s programs that provide top-level training in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, Jazz and Modern Music, Chamber Music, and Composition Applied to Audiovisual and Performing Media (the Master’s in Opera Performance will start at a later date). Students will also take part in the ongoing activities offered by the Conservatory, with a rich and attractive roster of masterclasses and concerts featuring leading figures of today’s music, programmed within the Liceu Jazz and Liceu Cambra series.
It is worth highlighting the diversity of nationalities among the enrolled students, who come from more than 20 countries around the world such as Australia, the United States, China, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Chile, Portugal, Cyprus, France, Russia, Turkey, Norway, Catalonia and the rest of Spain. Among them were beneficiaries of the scholarships awarded by the Fundació Carolina, which each year enables many musicians from the Ibero-American Community of Nations to come to pursue musical studies at the Conservatori Superior de Música Liceu. Also enrolled in the Master’s programs are the winners of the scholarships offered by the Conservatori Liceu Foundation, which provide exceptional support to students with great musical talent so they can develop their artistic abilities to the highest level.
