Today, October 15th, 2018, the Liceu Conservatory Foundation celebrates the 10th anniversary of the inauguration of its Higher Education Center’s venue.
Its construction meant a commitment towards the future and modernity, carried out by a historical institution in Barcelona that has always been pioneering in the development of musical education in our country. The moving from the historical facilities in Ramblas thus made possible to develop Bachelor and Master’s programmes (the peak of the institution’s educational pyramid) according to the 21st century’s educational challenges, in an environment of high musical excellence and in first class facilities.
With a surface of 10.000 m2 in 8 floors, 90 study rooms, pianos and professional instruments, and an exceptional Auditorium which is considered the best of its kind in Barcelona, the Liceu Conservatory located itself with this building on the international map of educational centers.
The new Higher Education Center’s venue began its first academic year in 2008, one and a half year after putting the first stone of the building, an event that had a considerable impact in the press and it was attended by a multitude of authorities and relevant figures of the music scene.
