The Summit is an activity of the Ibero-American Guitar Organization, led by Mariana Gomez, alumna of the Master of Interpretation of Classical and Contemporary Music (guitar) at the Liceu Conservatory.
On July 2 and 3, the first Ibero-American Guitar Summit will take place, a space for dialogue between the multiple identities of the guitar that will have participants from different countries in the region such as Colombia, Spain, Catalonia, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Mexico and Chine among others.
The objective of the meeting is to unite the world through the guitar and intertwine the work of institutions, interpreters, researchers, writers, artisans and professors, actors who have made significant contributions to this instrument. The event will be held virtually on various platforms and social networks. Guillem Pérez-Quer professor and Head of the Guitar Department of the Liceu Conservatory will participate with a conference entitled: “What is Music? From understanding to interpretation”.
Mariana Gómez, leader of the activity, is a Mexican guitarist, raised in a family and community of guitar builders in her country, who has studied Master in performance at the Conservatory with the scholarship of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation. Through the Ibero-American Guitar Organization she aims to creating communication bridges that allow dialogue between the multiple aspects of the guitar in the Ibero-American countries.
