On 1 December, Gerard Erruz, a graduate in composition from the Centre Superior de la Fundació Conservatori Liceu, presented at the Phonos Foundation La coreografia del so an immersive electroacoustic work that works on the movement of sound based on ideas from dance.
The piece is the result of an artistic research focused on gathering strategies and conventions of dance that allow to give meaning to the musical speech of immersive works. It was presented in a multi-channel system made up of 16 loudspeakers as part of the Residencias Festival.
The project has been awarded the OSIC (Oficina de Suport a la iniciativa cultural de la Generalitat de Catalunya) grant for research and innovation in the fields of visual arts, architecture and design, performing arts, music and thought.
Gerard was in the news last year after winning the Extraordinary Prize in Composition at the Centre Superior Liceu 2021-2022. Erruz has studied composition with professors Ramon Humet and Benet Casablancas.
From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate Gerard Erruz for this project and we wish him every success in his professional career.
