On October 7th Carlos Coronado, flamenco guitar student with professor Manuel Granados from the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, closed the participation of Students at the Mediterranean Guitar Festival at the Hermitage of San Sebastian (Sitges).
This performance is the result of a collaboration agreement between the Mediterranean Guitar Festival and the Liceu Conservatory Foundation.
The aim of this festival is to bring the classical guitar to the most emblematic churches on the Catalan coast. With more than a hundred concerts between May and October, the Mediterranean Guitar Festival differs from other festivals in that it features the spanish guitar, as a solo instrument and also in duos or quartets.
The students Jorge de la Cruz, Pedro Rincón, Glenn Bargain, Emma Campas and Carlos Coronado have participated in this edition.
The programme included the participation of former students from the Centre Superior Liceu such as Bruna Escolà, Silvia Nogales, Marc Segura, Nicolás Guilluén or the formations Delia Quartet and the “Al-Hamra” Quartet, among others. The teacher of the Centre Superior, Sergi Vicente, has also performed with the Guitar Orquestra from barcelona, and Maite Rubio, a teacher of the Centre Professional.
With these performances within the Mediterranean Guitar Festival, the ideals of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation to promote the professionalization of their students are fulfilled, giving them opportunities to show what they have learned in the classrooms of the Conservatory with real-life, high-engagement scenarios.
