On October 27 it took place at Barcelona Plaza Nova, in front of the Cathedral, the annual Arrels Foundation’s event, which each year reminds those people without home or who have lived on the street at some point and that unfortunately have left us during this year.
The Mezzo Quartet, formed by saxophone students of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, participated in the event. The ensemble members, Gisela Dekort (Scholarship holder of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation), Pol Cabrera, Ivan Belda and Sofia Sena, played famous pieces such as “El Cant dels Ocells”, “Imagine”, by John Lennon, or “Ciudades”, by Guillermo Lago, during the reading of the honoree names.
Artur Ponsà, drums student and scholarship holder of Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation, also played aside with Cor Dona Gospel members, who also joined the memorial as a social entity, very involved in Raval neighborhood.
This event, in which Liceu Conservatory Foundation has collaborated since many years, fosters the awareness of an often-forgotten reality, and to prevent people who have left us from forgetfulness.
