Aida Saco, a graduate of the Centre Superior of the Liceu, winner of the Fulbright Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture

24/10/2022

Aida Saco, a graduate from the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, specialized in piano with Professor Tensy Krismant and Josep Colom, has won the only scholarship of the Ministry of Culture Fulbright 2022, specialising in Music and Musicology to expand her artistic career at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. The pianist also studied at the Rotterdam CODARTS centre under the Erasmus program. During her training at the Conservatori Liceu, she received a fellowship from the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation and won numerous awards, including, first prize of the European Piano Competition "Salentine Terrae", second prize in the 10th edition of the international competition "Città di Massa" and third prize in the XII Prizeo Nacional/II Premio Luso/Galaico "Elisa de Sousa Pedroso". The Fulbright Fellowship of the Ministry of Culture will allow her to start the Manhattan School of Music in January and she will have the opportunity to train with the prestigious pianist Solomon Mikowsky. “When I displayed my candidature, I was dreaming big… I pointed high and it went well. It is an opportunity to expand borders, further my education, to establish contacts and to see it as an achievement. In the end, the point of work is reaping what you sow”- stated the pianist. From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate Aida Saco for obtaining this scholarship and we wish her good luck and every success so she can continue expanding her professional career as a concert artist.
