Due the institutional agreements of collaboration that the Liceu Conservatory maintains with the most prestigious educational and musical institutions in Colombia, professors of the center Corrado Bolsi and Gisela Curtolo will travel there to give several masterclasses and perform concerts, as a continuation of the active collaboration and exchange of activities which have been carried out in the last years.
Thus, next September 24th and 25th, these renowned violinists will give a masterclass and will perform a concert at the National University of Colombia, in Bogotá. Created in 1867 as the only public university institution with a national scope, it is a model center in the Colombian education that promotes the development of education, scientific research and artistic creation on behalf of the State, with the aim of the country’s cultural, economic and technological progress.
Later, they will also give a masterclass and a concert at the EAFIT University in Medellin, with which the Liceu Conservatory maintains a very close institutional collaboration since 2002. In the last years they have carried out many academic activities, as well as student exchanges, such as the previous visit of Corrado Bolsi and Gisela Curtolo, just one year ago. The EAFIT University is a renowned institution in Colombia since its foundation in 1960 by big names of the business world who were concerned about the progress of education in Medellin. Its Music Program was created in 1998 and has itineraries that focus in instruments, singing, jazz, conduction and composition.
Finally, from October 1st to 5th, they will give masterclasses and a concert in Cartagena as part of the IV Unibac Instrumental Clinics, among other internationally renowned conductors and soloists from all over the world. These events are organized by the Alfonso Mejía Navarro Conservatory of Music, the Bolívar’s Fine Arts and Sciences University Institution and Bolívar Sí Avanza, with which the Liceu Conservatory also collaborates.
