CARLA OBACH

Carla Obach Esteban is currently a professor at the Fundació Conservatori Liceu Centre for Higher Education of Barcelona, and at the American School of Barcelona. She combines her teaching activity with choral direction and saxophone performance.

She studied saxophone at the Fundació Conservatori Liceu Centre for Higher Education, in Barcelona, with professor Albert Julià (2014). Subsequently, she completed the Master in Saxophone at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Germany), with Professor Daniel Gauthier (2016), and continued her development at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus (Denmark), where she obtained the Soloist Diploma with Professor Johannes Thorell (2019).

In 2021 she completed the Master’s Degree in Chamber Music at the Fundació Conservatori Liceu Centre for Higher Education, thanks to the support of the Fundació Conservatori Liceu scholarship, along with the rest of her colleagues from the Quartet Vela. With this group she recorded her first album «Vistes al mar».

She recently recorded her second album «Trencadís», with cellist Elisabet Iserte López, with whom she forms the Absit Duo.
