The Conservatori Liceu Symphonic Orchestra is an ensemble that brings together Liceu’s students several times a year to work and delve into the great orchestral repertoire of all periods, and which has a consolidated track record that has taken it to the most such as the Conservatori Liceu Auditorium, the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Likewise, it has been directed in symphonic or opera programs by directors such as Salvador Mas, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Joan Albert Amargós, Josep Caballé-Domènech, Rubén Gimeno or Manel Valdivieso, among others, in memorable concerts that have always left testimony to the excellence and quality of their members. He has also made recordings for radio, television and record labels such as Harmonia Mundi and Columna.
On this occasion, conducted by Francesc Prat, the Orchestra will be joined by one of the two winners of the Extraordinary Prize for Performance in Classical and Contemporary Music: saxophonist Gisela Dekort, a scholar of the Ferrer-Salat Foundation. Gisela will perform as a soloist the work Tableaux de Provence by French composer Paule Maurice, which will help raise awareness of music composed by women. You will also be able to enjoy the 3rd Symphony, the ‘Rhenish,’ by the German composer Robert Schumann. The program will be completed with the piece Coriolan-Ouvertüre by Ludwig van Beethoven.”
