Alberto Bocini has built an outstanding international career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. He has been principal double bassist with ensembles such as the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and has collaborated with leading ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala and I Solisti Veneti. His concert career has taken him to festivals and concert halls across Europe, America and Asia.
A lecturer at the Haute École de Musique de Genève and the Stauffer Academy in Cremona, he combines his teaching with a busy performing career that includes concert performances, composition and various recordings released by labels such as Denon, Stradivarius and Velut Luna, as well as on his own label, NBB Records. He is also co-founder of The Bass Gang, a quartet with which he has helped to expand the repertoire and expressive possibilities of the double bass.
As part of the Liceu Cambra – Masterclasses & Concerts series, Bocini will share his artistic and musical experience with students at the Conservatoire and with anyone interested in gaining an insight into the career of a musician who has enjoyed a distinguished international career as a performer, composer and teacher.
This masterclass is open to the public. Students from the String Department also have exclusive masterclasses scheduled with this speaker on 10 and 11 December at different times.
