The Master in Opera Performance offered by the Liceu Conservatory gives young singing professionals the opportunity to grow and develop as performers in an environment of artistic excellence and the highest musical competence. Every year, the objective of the Master’s degree of preparation, rehearsal and staging of a significant title of the operatic repertoire materializes in two concerts open to the public that culminate this process of interpretive improvement, while at the same time representing an experience within a professional production for to the performers and an attractive high-level artistic offer for all lovers of the city’s opera.
If in past years the Master’s students delighted us with The Magic Flute, La Cenerentola, L’elisir d’amore or Le nozze di Figaro this year their work will focus on Così fan tutte by W. A. Mozart, one of the greatest and most admired and performed operas of the entire lyrical repertoire, which means a great demand and a new challenge for the young musicians and promising singers who will interpret this extraordinary work.
Liceu Cambra thus incorporates into its programming the representation of this fundamental work of the operatic repertoire with a cast made up of the students of this academic program with the musical direction of Manel Valdivieso and the stage direction of Anna Ponces.
The work carried out is complemented by the teachings of great lyrical figures, specialists in the Mozartian repertoire and with extensive experience in the representation of Così fan tutte, which on this occasion will be Fiorenza Cedolins, Joan Martín -Royo and Eduard Giménez, who will be in charge of the vocal preparation of the Master’s students. Carlos Chausson will be the artistic director of this proposal of great artistic interest.
Così fan tutte will be performed in the extraordinary setting of the Liceu Conservatory Auditorium, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra made up of the center’s students, who also have a unique opportunity to live the experience of an operatic evening from the orchestra pit, with the great artistic responsibility that this means.
Così fan tutte, is an opera buffa in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte. The first time it was performed was at the Burgtheater in Vienna, on January 26, 1790.
The Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Opera Performance taught by the Liceu Conservatory has established itself as a professional offer for highly talented young lyrical singers, who have the opportunity to prepare and perform a title from the great repertoire under the guidance of great experts in the operatic scene and performance.
