Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts is synonymous with great music and musical wisdom shared by the greatest performers and creators. This concert series reaches its ninth edition this year, reaffirming itself as one of the most interesting initiatives of its kind, and, as always expected, a meeting point for the students of the Higher Center of the Liceu Conservatory with the great international masters, and as an appointment for music lovers from Barcelona with the best music.
Giampaolo Bandini is considered among the best Italian guitarists on the international scene. He graduated brilliantly with the highest marks at the age of nineteen and owes his musical training to Maestro Giovanni Puddu. In the chamber music field, he studied at the Piano Academy in Imola with Pier Narciso Masi, Alexander Lonquich, Dario De Rosa, Maureen Jones and Franco Gulli and obtained the Master Diploma as a member of the best chamber ensemble.
Both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, he has performed in important concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Musikhalle in Hamburg, the International Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing, the Teatro Regio in Parma, the IRCAM in Paris, the Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, among others.
As a teacher, he has given master classes at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, the Academy of Arts in Rome, to name but a few. He is currently professor of guitar and chamber music at the Musical Institute of Higher Education «L. Boccherini» in Lucca and at the summer courses of the Festivals of Portogruaro and Gubbio.
In 2004 he was awarded the XV «Beniamino Joppolo» Prize of the City of Patti (Messina) for the high artistic merits achieved in the field of music.
