Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts represents musical excellence and a meeting point for the exchange of knowledge among the world’s leading performers and creators. In this tenth edition, the series reaffirms itself as one of the most important initiatives of its kind, once again becoming a much-anticipated space for students of the Conservatori Liceu and internationally renowned masters. Furthermore, it is an unmissable event for music lovers in Barcelona, where they can enjoy the best live music.
This masterclass will be taught by Andrea Bindi, an Italian percussionist recognized for his skill and versatility in performing various percussion instruments.
He started playing percussion at the age of five and graduated with top marks, honours and honourable mention at the Conservatorio ‘Claudio Monteverdi’ in Bolzano in the class of Gianmaria Romanenghi. From 2011 to 2013 he attended courses at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and subsequently improved his skills with Raymond Curfs, Willi Hilgers, Rainer Seegers and Stephan Cuerlis.
He has performed under the baton of conductors such as Riccardo Chailly, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Bernard Haitink, Myung-whun Chung, Fabio Luisi, Daniele Gatti, Daniel Harding, Alan Gilbert, Antonio Pappano, Paavo Järvi, Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Noseda and Christian Thielemann.
He has collaborated with the Bayerische Rundfunk Orchester, Bayerische Staatsoper, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, NDR Elbphilarmonie Orchester, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Orchestra della Toscana, Orchestra Haydn, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai.
Since 2015, he has been principal timpani with the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala, the Filarmonica della Scala and timpani teacher at the masterclasses of the Accademia della Scala.
