Akiko Ebi developed his career after winning the 41st Japan Music Competition in his first year at the National University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo. After graduating from the Conservatoire de Paris, he studied at the graduate school of the same center. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Frederic Chopin Society of Japan Award, two Japan Gold Disc Awards, the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government, a medal as an honorary citizen of Paris and the Exxon- Mobile Music Award (Japan).
Akiko Ebi has long been active as a world artist. So far it has performed in 36 countries, including Japan, numerous countries in Europe and North America, Russia and China. He has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras such as the NHK Symphony, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, the Warsaw National Philharmonic, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radi France, the Montecarlo Philharmonic, the Argentina National Symphony, the Slovak Philharmonic and the Sofia Orchestra.
A two-piano duo concert performed by Akiko Ebi and Martha Argerich was televised with a large audience in countries across Europe and also in Israel and Japan. Akiko Ebi has performed in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including the Theatre des Champs-Elysees, the Salle Pleyel, the Gewandhaus and the Philharmonie in Berlin. In recent years she has actively dedicated herself to the instruction of young musicians and is a requested teacher of master classes in countries around the world. Since 2016 she has been regularly invited to give master classes at Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts.
