Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts is synonymous with great music and musical wisdom shared by the greatest performers and creators. This concert series reaches its ninth edition this year, reaffirming itself as one of the most interesting initiatives of its kind, and, as always expected, a meeting point for the students of the Higher Center of the Liceu Conservatory with the great international masters, and as an appointment for music lovers from Barcelona with the best music.
Akiko Ebi developed her career after winning the 41st Japan Music Competition in her freshman year at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. After graduating from the Paris Conservatoire, she studied at the graduate school at the same conservatoire. She has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Frederic Chopin Society of Japan Award, two Japan Gold Disc Awards, the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French government, and a medal as an honorary citizen of Paris and the Exxon-Mobile Music (Japan).
Akiko Ebi has been active for a long time as a world artist. So far, she has performed in 36 countries, including Japan, many countries in Europe and North America, Russia and China. She has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras such as the NHK Symphony, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, Warsaw National Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Monte Carlo Philharmonic, Argentina National Symphony, Slovak Philharmonic and the Sofia National Opera Orchestra.
A two-piano duet concert performed by Akiko Ebi and Martha Argerich was televised with a large audience in countries across Europe and also in Israel and Japan. Akiko Ebi has performed in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including the Theatre des Champs-Elysees, the Salle Pleyel, the Gewandhaus and the Berliner Philharmoniker. In recent years she has been actively involved in the instruction of young musicians and is a sought-after teacher of master classes in countries around the world. Since 2016 she has been regularly invited to give master classes at Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts.
