Originally from Caudete (Albacete), Javier began his musical studies at the Caudete School of Music with José Javier Pastor as his trumpet teacher. He then continued his studies at the Professional Conservatory of Almansa (Albacete) with José Antonio García, and later obtained his Advanced Music Degree at the Superior Conservatory of Alicante, also with José Javier Pastor, earning the Extraordinary End of Degree Award.
In his musical development, his lessons with Luis González at the Brass Academy Alicante with Rudi Korp, and during his master’s in performance at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Finnish trumpeter Pasi Pirinen, have been fundamental. Additionally, he has had the privilege of receiving masterclasses from world-renowned trumpeters such as Reinhold Friedrich, Håkan Hardenberger, and Gábor Tarkövi, among others.
All of this has led him to become a member of youth orchestras such as the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Schleswig Holstein, JONDE, and JONC, among others.
Among the awards he has won, the 2nd prize at the International Lieksa Competition (Finland) in 2017 and several 1st prizes, such as the National Chamber Music Competition of Cox (Alicante) in 2014, stand out.
Regarding his professional career, in 2014 he secured the position of trumpet solo assistant at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, which he held until 2019 when he obtained the trumpet position in the orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, where he continues his professional activities to this day. He has also collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Helsinki Philharmonic, National Orchestra of Spain, Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra (OBC), the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid, among others.
Among these, he has had the privilege of playing under conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Klaus Mäkelä, Jonathan Nott, Sakari Oramo, Christoph Eschenbach, among others.
