Charles-Antoine Archambault studied cello with Jean-Guihen Queyras and Svane Troels and baroque cello with Christophe Coin and Kristin von der Goltz. He has won many prestigious awards at the International J & A Beare Solo Bach Competition, the International Beethoven Competition, the Possehl Foundation Music Prize, and the Ton & Erklärung Competition, among others.
He has been a soloist with the North German Radio Philharmonic (NDR), the Munich Radio Orchestra, the West German Radio Orchestra (WDR), the Serbian Radio Symphony Orchestra (RTS), the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, Taiwan String Academy and Ulster Orchestra, among others. He is a regular guest artist at world famous festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Prague Spring Festival and the Heidelberg Spring Festival, and has also performed in major concert halls such as the Gasteig Philharmonic (Munich), the Stadtcasino in Basel or the Konzerthaus in Berlin.
Archambault has been solo cellist with many European orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Opera Orchestra, the North German Radio (NDR) Philharmonic in Hannover, the Belgian National Orchestra, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of German Chamber of Bremen, among others. He is currently the main cellist of the Barcelona and National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia (OBC).
