Carme Passolas is a professional with more than 30 years of experience in managing educational institutions and in the management of artistic and cultural projects.
She obtained her qualifications as a piano teacher, advanced solfège teacher, and advanced teacher of harmony, composition, and orchestration from the Liceu Conservatory. Her interest in pedagogy led her, from a very young age, to work mainly teaching harmony, counterpoint, and analysis.
She founded the Juan Pedro Carrero School of Music in Barcelona in 1992, a private center for musical studies aimed at students with professional aspirations, from which she developed important pedagogical and artistic projects, such as the international courses in Vilaller and Vielha and the Barcelona City International Piano Forum. From 2004 to 2008 she directed the Conservatory and Municipal School of Music of Sabadell, promoting the creation of the Association of Conservatories of Catalonia. Since the 2008–2009 academic year, she has worked at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, where she has held various positions: director of artistic and educational projects, director of the network of music schools, director of the Professional Center and Urquinaona School of Music, and head of the editorial line on music theory and music for primary education.
She has promoted several concert series throughout Catalonia through her companies Tempus Mundi and Art XXI Artist Management, and she was a music advisor to the Institut Français in Barcelona and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, carrying out important work with them to promote young performers from those countries. She completed a postgraduate degree at the University of Barcelona in show production and did her internship at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, working on the production of the Petit Liceu concert series.
Specialized in team leadership, the development of educational musical projects, and curricular innovation, she holds a master’s degree from the University of Deusto–UAB in Management, Direction, and Leadership of Educational Institutions. She teaches the course in Educational Organization.
