Bart Barenghi’s academic training took place in both Italy and France: he obtained a degree in the Economics of Art and Culture at Bocconi University in Milan, before devoting himself entirely to music.
He graduated in classical guitar from the ‘G. Verdi’ Conservatoire in Milan in 2006. In 2009, he obtained the Diploma (DEM) in Jazz with first-class honours at the Conservatoire National de Région (CNR) in Paris. It was during these studies that he undertook an Erasmus exchange at the Liceu Conservatory, studying with Professor Jordi Bonell. The following year, he completed a Master’s degree in Jazz and Modern Music at the Conservatori de Milà. He deepened his understanding of the language of jazz by attending seminars at Siena Jazz and studying with Bebo Ferra, Paolo Fresu, Dave Liebman and Marc Ducret.
His artistic career includes concerts throughout Europe as a band leader, session musician and composer. His repertoire is based on original compositions that blend elements of the classical tradition, improvised music and world music.
