On 26 September, the Liceu Conservatory Foundation hosted the presentation of the initiative ‘Colombia in the World: International Cultural Portfolio’, a programme run by the Colombian Ministry of Culture to co-finance, support and strengthen cultural projects by Colombians living abroad.
As part of this activity, the Colombian Minister of Culture, Ms Yannai Kadamami, and the General Director of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, Dr Maria Serrat Martín, met to discuss future institutional collaboration projects that will continue the close relationship that the Liceu Conservatory Foundation has maintained with Colombian educational and cultural institutions for 25 years and which has enabled numerous Colombian musicians to study at the centre.
During the visit, Ms Yannai Kadamami was able to tour the Conservatory’s facilities and learn in detail about the cultural activities carried out jointly with Colombian institutions, as well as talk to students from Colombia and various teachers.
The activity is part of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation’s Ibero-American Collaboration Programme, through which the institution has established institutional agreements with conservatories, universities and cultural organisations in several Latin American countries, including Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Chile and Brazil.
