Presentation of “Jóvenes creadores del Chocó”, a non-profit artistic and cultural organization that seeks to generate protective environments for children and adolescents in the municipality of Quibdó, through theater, urban and folkloric dance. Its primary interest is to promote culture as a space for encounter, reflection, reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
Six young people from the organization, who will travel for this meeting from Quibdó, Colombia, will bring us their Afro-urban dances, full of truths that sprout to resolve, heal, resist and re-exist through the dancing body, telling their own stories in order to establish dignity, fraternity and social equity.
Some of them will also talk with María Serrat Martín, Director of the Conservatori Liceu, and Marta Nin, Director of Casa América Catalunya, about the creative process of the members of the Corporation and what culture means as a tool for social transformation.
