The Conservatori Liceu Symphonic Orchestra is an ensemble that brings together Liceu’s students several times a year to work and delve into the great orchestral repertoire of all periods, and which has a consolidated track record that has taken it to the most such as the Conservatori Liceu Auditorium, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Auditori and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Likewise, it has been directed in symphonic or opera programs by directors such as Salvador Mas, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Joan Albert Amargós, Josep Caballé-Domènech, Rubén Gimeno or Manel Valdivieso, among others, in memorable concerts that have always left testimony to the excellence and quality of their members. He has also made recordings for radio, television and record labels such as Harmonia Mundi and Columna.
The Symphonic Orchestra will be the main character of a musical evening where you will be able to enjoy this project that brings together the pedagogical tool and academic practice through a artistic proposal of great interest for the public that loves the great works of universal symphonism.
On this occasion, the Orchestra, directed by Manel Valdivieso, will perform Mozart’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 4 with Pol Coronado, solo violinist who was awarded the Extraordinary Prize of the Liceu Conservatory in the 2021-2022 course. We will also be able to enjoy the Choral Hymns of the Rig Veda, by G. Holst, originally for harp and choir of white voices with orchestration by the students of the Liceu Conservatory, Jannai Puig (1st and 2nd song) and Manuel Torralba (3rd and 4th song).
The Liceu Jove is presented as a very attractive musical proposal that helps students fully prepare for their leap into the professional world while they are in their training period. It also provides a great opportunity for music lovers in the city to access repertoires of great interest and multiple formats (from the intimacy of chamber music to the large format of symphonic and operatic productions), as well as with a great stylistic variety (from great lyrical works to contemporary and newly created repertoire, passing through jazz and modern music).
Thanks to the patronage of the Fundació “la Caixa”, the public can have access to a wide range of music in a magnificent space, the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of Barcelona’s Raval neighborhood, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best venues of its kind in our country.
