The Conservatori Liceu Symphonic Band returns to the Liceu Jove concert series as a consolidated project, not only because of the excellent memories it has left to the public and participants, but also as a mainstay that enriches the orchestral offer for students of woodwind instruments and metal of all courses.
Through the band, these students have the opportunity to approach a world that, although still unknown to the public, lives in full swing in Europe, Asia and the United States, where the bands, far from limiting themselves to the arrangements of symphonic works or festive music, have an extraordinarily wide and diverse newly created repertoire, specifically designed for this type of ensemble.
On this occasion, the Band, conducted by Àlex Sansó, will perform works from Les trois notes du Japon by Toshio Mashima, Danse satanique by Alexander Kosmicki, Libertadores by Óscar Navarro and the world premiere of Otear la grieta by Gerard Erruz, Extraordinary Prize of Composition.
The Liceu Jove is presented as a very attractive musical proposal that helps students fully prepare for their leap into the professional world while they are in their training period. It also provides a great opportunity for music lovers in the city to access repertoires of great interest and multiple formats (from the intimacy of chamber music to the large format of symphonic and operatic productions), as well as with a great stylistic variety (from great lyrical works to contemporary and newly created repertoire, passing through jazz and modern music).
Thanks to the patronage of the Fundació “la Caixa”, the public can have access to a wide range of music in a magnificent space, the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of Barcelona’s Raval neighborhood, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best venues of its kind in our country.
You provide the music, we bring you to the stage!
