In this concert, students of various specialties and levels will pay tribute to two of the greatest Catalan conductors and composers of all time: Joan Lamote de Grignon and Ricard Lamote de Grignon.
The performed works will showcase the outstanding quality of the music of Joan Lamote de Grignon (a graduate and twice director of the Liceu Conservatory) and his son Ricard, who also trained at the Conservatory.
The program will include Andante by Joan Lamote de Grignon, composed in 1892 when he was a student at the Conservatory. There will also be works for piano and voice, and other instruments.
A member of the Lamote de Grignon family, grandson and great-grandson respectively of both composers, will reflect on the life, works, and the human and artistic personality of these two great masters of Catalan music.
The Liceu Jove is presented as a very attractive musical proposal that helps students fully prepare for their leap into the professional world while they are in their training period. It also provides a great opportunity for music lovers in the city to access repertoires of a great stylistic variety (from great lyrical works to contemporary and newly created repertoire, passing through jazz and modern music).
