LICEU JOVE concert series has become the framework where the music moves from the classroom to the stage, thus setting a bridge between the learning activities and the city’s musical scene.
This series gives students a chance to go up to the stage (in our wonderful Auditorium, widely acknowledged as one of the best of its kind in Barcelona), to face the challenge of presenting to engaged audiences the results of a highly demanding work, in conditions akin to those of professional activity: an experience that means a main contribution to their development as musicians.
The concerts by several students’ ensembles are an expression of the wish to provide them with professional experience, and they offer music of the highest interest for Barcelona audiences. These have a welcome chance to listen to great ensembles, from Symphonic Orchestras to Jazz Big bands, as well as outstanding soloists and many other chamber music groups. Composers have also their place in the series, thanks to the ensemble devoted to the New Music.
