Andrea Motis, Michael League, Jaques Morelenbaum, Pascuala Ilabaca will offer an open rehearsal on November 14 at the Higher Conservatory of Music Liceu, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and December 2024 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
Spanish trumpeter and singer Andrea Motis stands out for her versatility and talent on stage. With her project ‘Temblor,’ Motis fuses jazz with elements from other genres, creating a fresh and original proposal along with Christoph Mallinger on violin and mandolin and Zé Luis Nascimento on percussion. Her warm voice and trumpet skill have won over international audiences, consolidating her as one of the leading figures in current jazz.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 13 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
Open rehearsals such as that of Andrea Motis, Michael League, Jaques Morelenbaum, Pascuala Ilabaca are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
