El new piano man of The Bad Plus

 

Last year we enjoyed the visit of The Bad Plus at the Liceu Conservatory while we knew that it was the last time we could see on stage the three founder members of this band, which is so beloved by our students and audience. That is why is so expected our meeting with its new piano player since last January, Orrin Evans. Considered one of the “Young Lions” of the 90’s straight-jazz, he has developed a wide career, mainly in the hard bop genre but grafted with soul-jazz and R&B elements, and now with the renowned band that has dazzled us with its creative freedom.
