
Marta Sánchez will offer a master class on 27th of October 2025 at the Liceu Conservatory, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and December 2025 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
Born and raised in Madrid, pianist and composer Marta Sánchez has become a highlighted figure in the global contemporary creative music scene, currently based in New York City. Internationally acclaimed for her innovative artistry, she has performed extensively across prestigious venues and festivals in the US, Europe, and the Americas, including North Sea Jazz Festival, Jazzaldia, Carnegie Hall, Blue Note, Village Vanguard, and more. Sánchez is a sought-after collaborator with artists such as David Murray and Maria Grand and has received multiple awards for film soundtracks, as well as MacDowell Colony residencies in 2017 and 2021, where she further explored her compositional voice.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 14 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Marta Sánchez are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
