
Kris Davis will offer a master class on 3rd of November 2025 at the Liceu Conservatory, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and December 2025 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
Kris Davis is a Grammy award-winning pianist and composer who has released 24 recordings as a leader or co-leader and collaborated with artists such as Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave Holland, John Zorn, Craig Taborn, Ingrid Laubrock, Tyshawn Sorey and Esperanza Spalding. She was named a 2021 Doris Duke Artist alongside Wayne Shorter and Danilo Perez, Pianist of the Year by DownBeat magazine in 2022 and 2020, and Pianist and Composer of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2021. Davis is the Associate Program Director of Creative Development at the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice and the founder of Pyroclastic Records. Davis is a Steinway Artist.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 14 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Kris Davis are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
